Important Service Update: Repairs Temporarily Paused
Notice: General repairs & mods are temporarily paused, but our Nintendo Switch modchip service is running as usual! Thanks for your patience.
Important Service Update: Repairs Temporarily Paused
Due to an overwhelming demand for our console modification services, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend all future repair bookings.
Over the past year, repair enquiries have grown to the point where the time required for diagnosing faults, sourcing replacement parts, quoting and managing repairs has become unsustainable for our small team. Rather than continuing to accept work we can't complete in a reasonable timeframe, we've decided to temporarily pause repairs so we can focus on the services we're best known for.
What We're Still Accepting
Nintendo Switch Modchip Installations
SSD Upgrades, Softmods and CFW
Other console modification and micro-soldering projects
What We Are NOT Still Accepting
Controller Repairs
Water Damaged Consoles
Shell Swaps (Switch, Steam Deck, Gameboy, N64, GC & more)
USB / HDMI Port Replacements
Battery Replacements
Consoles with partially completed or failed modification attempts that require repair or diagnostic work before the modification can be completed.
Our Nintendo Switch modchip installation service remains our primary focus and is operating as normal, albeit with longer than usual turnaround times.
Other Console Modifications
Modification work for consoles other than the Nintendo Switch is still available; however, please note that our response times for these inquiries may be slower than usual due to the high volume of emails we receive.
When Will Repairs Return?
This is a temporary measure. We fully intend to resume repair services in the future once we're in a position to offer the level of service and turnaround times you deserve.
We sincerely appreciate everyone's patience and continued support. As a small two-person team, your understanding allows us to maintain the quality of our work rather than overextending ourselves.
Now that the Steam Deck is officially available locally, we’re offering reliable upgrade and repair services for Australian users. From SSD installations to Hall Effect thumbsticks and custom housings, we’ve got you covered.
NOTE: Our storefront in Tullamarine is now closed, but we're still open!
All repairs are now handled via mail-in. More details can be found HERE.
Pricing?
We thought long and hard on how to simplify the buying process for our customers and unfortunately in the end we were unable to find a way to price the hundreds of possible services we can offer for your Steam Deck
With the difficulty of getting replacement parts into Australia, figuring out which parts our customers would like to opt for, and whether they'll be supplying their own parts we just had no easy way of setting out a clear and consistent pricing structure for an endless number of potential services, shipping options and custom parts
We currently offer a range of BYO (bring your own) mod installation services:
$129 — Install of a BYO 2230 SSD upgrade. This includes physical installation of your supplied SSD, formatting, and a fresh install of SteamOS.
$89 — Install of BYO GuliKit Hall Effect thumbsticks, including soldering the capacitive touch sensor wiring. (Not currently available for OLED models.)
$39 — Install of a BYO custom rear housing (e.g. JSAUX transparent rear shells), or $439 for a full housing replacement from eXtremeRate or Jsaux, including teardown, display removal, reassembly, and new adhesive/hardware.
Steam Deck Bumper Button Repair:
$89 — Simple repair: Straight swap of the broken bumper button with a new one, plus full testing.
$129 — Complicated repair: For cases where damage has lifted pads/traces on the mainboard, requiring additional board-level work.
$10 — Replacement switch (if needed): We’ll check compatibility with your model and confirm before proceeding.
*No warranties are applied to customer supplied (BYO) parts
*Discounts apply when multiple services are ordered (our $129 fee covers an hour's labor, and in most cases, if the job can be completed in less than an hour, that's all you'll pay.)
*Installation of a new SSD requires the deletion of all personal data, files and installed games, these files cannot be transferred (unless they're currently installed on an SD card)
*Return shipping is an added cost, we always prefer to use Australia Post Express w/ tracking
Terms & Condtions apply, see them HERE.
While we no longer have a physical location for visitors, we're still here to help! All our repair and modification services are now handled through our convenient mail-in service.
To get started, simply email us with your repair needs, and we'll provide detailed instructions on how to send your device to us. Most modifications and repairs are completed within 48 hours of receipt, ensuring a quick turnaround time.
