Grips, cases, thumbstick caps—small upgrades that make a big difference in how your Steam Deck feels in hand.

Skull&co Thumbstick Grip Set
These thumbstick grips offer more than just enhanced comfort; they effectively prevent the common issue of dirt and debris accumulating on the OEM thumbstick caps. Not only do they feel great and improve the overall aesthetics, but they are also easy to clean, ensuring a cleaner and significantly more comfortable system.
Don't underestimate the impact of such a seemingly insignificant product, as the thumbsticks are one of the primary touch points on the console. When paired with the Jsaux silicone grips, you're in for a truly elevated gaming experience.

Jsaux Silicone Grips
Much like the Skull&co thumbstick grips, these seemingly small products make a significant difference in both the aesthetics and ergonomics of the device. Not only do they enhance the overall appearance, but they also provide essential protection against wear and tear when placing the Steam Deck down.
We firmly stand by the belief that these two accessories are essential additions, as they address all touch points and greatly enhance the comfort and usability of the Steam Deck.

Jsaux Kickstand Case
If the soft silicone textured grips aren't your style or don't offer enough protection, our next best recommendation is the PC0105 "Protective Standing Case" from Jsaux. To be clear, this isn't their most feature-rich or premium case; in fact, we don't even think the kickstand feels particularly great. However, what this case excels at is weight and comfort. We've compared it to the Skull & Co., Killswitch, and other Jsaux cases, and none of them match its ergonomic comfort, ease of inserting and removing the device, or the soft yet durable rubber texture that actually feels nice in your hands—not to mention the price. Somehow, one of the lowest-priced protective cases on the market also seems to be one of the best.
You can also purchase this case on Amazon if the above product link isn't to your taste.

Jsaux Glass Screen Protectors
Jsaux is a name you'll see pop up a lot in our recommendations—and for good reason. Their screen protectors, available in both glossy and anti-glare etched finishes, consistently deliver on quality. We’ve used them across multiple devices and they’ve always nailed it: excellent fit, smooth finish, and no-hassle installation.
Each pack includes two protectors (handy if you're prone to accidents or just generous), and while they’re not the cheapest on the market, they strike that perfect middle ground between affordability and premium feel. If you're after a stress-free install and reliable protection, this is a no-brainer.

Jsaux HB1201 & HB0801 Docks
These are hands-down some of the most capable docks on the market. You’re getting HDMI 2.1 with full 4K/120Hz support, 10Gbps USB-C, 100W passthrough charging, Gigabit Ethernet, and an impressive selection of high-speed ports that rival (and often outperform) many PC-specific hubs costing several times more.
The spring-loaded cradle is a clever bit of design—it hides away when not in use, leaving you with what looks and functions like a clean, premium USB4 hub. As for the RGB? Fully customizable and totally optional. If you’re not into lighting effects, just turn it off and keep things minimal.
Whether you're future-proofing your handheld setup or looking for a versatile all-in-one dock that can pull double duty on your desktop, this is the one to beat.

Jsaux HB0602 5-in-1 Docking Station
If you just want to dock and play without spending big, the HB0602 delivers exactly what you need. You still get 100W USB-C charging, 4K/60Hz via HDMI 2.0, and a pair of USB 2.0 ports for connecting peripherals. No RGB, no extra frills—just the essentials done right.
It’s compact, well-built, and perfect for anyone who doesn’t need top-tier specs but still wants a reliable dock that handles handheld gaming with zero fuss. An easy pick if you're focused on function over flash.

Anker Powerline III USB-C to USB-C Cable (100W)
It’s hard to get excited about a cable — until you’ve burned through as many as we have. Running a repair business means we charge a lot of devices, and in 2025, durability matters more than ever. That’s why we’ve moved on from our previously recommended Ugreen cables to Anker’s Powerline III 100W.
This 100W cable isn’t just perfect for your Steam Deck — it’s beefy enough to power a full docked setup, laptops, and basically anything else USB-C.
Pair it with one of our recommended GaN chargers, and you’ll be sorted for years to come.

Anker 65W GaN Prime Charger
A compact powerhouse that does it all. With two USB-C ports and one USB-A, this charger can easily handle your Steam Deck— whether it's docked or on the go — while also topping up your phone, earbuds, or any other accessory at the same time.
These are the chargers we personally carry with us. They’re rock solid reliable, and thanks to GaN tech, they’re smaller and more efficient than traditional chargers without sacrificing power. It’s the kind of gear you forget about — because it just works.
They’re also excellent value. Sure, they cost a bit more than the no-name brands flooding Amazon, but when it comes to power supplies and batteries, trust us — it’s never worth cutting corners.
Anker also makes a beastly 120W version, capable of charging high-powered laptops like MacBooks — and we love it — but for most people, it’s overkill in both power and price. The 65W model hits the sweet spot for nearly every handheld setup out there.

The Anker 737 Power Bank
With a massive 24,000mAh capacity and up to 140W of output, the Anker 737 Power Bank is one of the best portable charging options available for the Steam Deck. Whether you're midway through a long session or just need to top up on the go, this unit will easily keep your console running — along with your phone and accessories, too.
It features two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, a real-time charging screen, and even supports pass-through charging, which is super handy if you’re plugging in multiple devices at once. It’s well-built, compact for its capacity, and packed with features.
This is also one of the largest battery banks that’s still legal to take on an airplane, making it ideal for long trips without compromising on performance.
Much like with power supplies, batteries are something you don’t want to cheap out on. The 737 is backed by Anker’s excellent track record and more than 13,000 five-star Amazon reviews — and it shows.
We’ve also tested Anker’s newer “Laptop Power Bank,” but chose not to recommend it. The built-in cables can’t be replaced, it costs more, and delivers lower wattage per port — making the 737 a far better pick for most gamers.
To be totally clear: we’re not sponsored by Anker, and we’ve never been in contact with them — they just make consistently excellent gear at fair prices.
Storage Options
The best upgrades for expanding your library without slowing things down.

SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO MicroSD Card
When it comes to microSD cards, the SanDisk Extreme PRO is as premium as it gets. With transfer speeds up to 200MB/s and A2-rated performance, it’s a top-tier option that’s perfect for fast game loads and responsive app performance on any almost any handheld device.
If you’re after the best, this is the one to get.
That said, we also recommend the Lexar Play series as a solid value choice. While it doesn’t match the Extreme PRO’s peak performance, it’s still a great option for expanding your storage without breaking the bank—especially if you're mostly storing games that don’t demand super-fast speeds.
Note: SanDisk recently released a 1.5TB MicroSD card with slightly slower speeds, but is still an excellent choice for maximum storage capacity (Great for indie games or emulation libraries, but not AAA's, You can find that HERE.

SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO MicroSD Card
While SanDisk’s Extreme PRO remains the go-to for performance and long-term reliability, Lexar’s PLAY series is a solid alternative for anyone looking to expand their storage without paying top-tier prices.
The PLAY cards may not carry the same critical acclaim or reputation as SanDisk just yet, but they’ve proven to be dependable in everyday use—and at a noticeably lower price, they’re easy to recommend for casual gaming, media, or general handheld use.
If you’re not chasing peak performance and just want affordable, reliable storage from a known brand, this is a great place to start.

2TB MP600 Core Mini
If you're upgrading your Steam Deck’s storage, the Corsair MP600 Core Mini is our top pick—and the SSD we personally install and recommend to customers at our repair shop. It delivers fast, reliable performance with excellent read and write speeds (up to 5,000 MB/s and 3,800 MB/s), but what really sets it apart is how efficiently it runs.
It sips power and produces very little heat, making it absolutely ideal for handheld gaming PCs where thermal headroom and battery life matter. If you’re after a tried-and-tested upgrade that won’t let you down, this is the one.
Also worth keeping an eye on the WD Black SN770M as a solid alternative with similar specs.

Transparent Back Plate for Steam Deck (Vented with Heatsync)
Contrary to the full housing replacement, the Transparent Back Plate offers a straightforward installation process with essentially zero danger to the device, and can be completed quite easily by those with no prior experience, even the required tools are provided by Jsaux for the quick install.
This sleek replacement introduces transparent colors, a metal heatsink, and added vents, resulting in reduced fan noise and improved device temperature which actually made quite a huge practical improvement in our general gameplay. We love the practical improvements so much that even if a 'OEM Black' colour was made, we'd still happily recommend it.
⚠️ Please be aware that the OLED model utilizes screws that differ from those supplied by Jsaux. While the backplate remains compatible, you must use the original screws from your Steam Deck instead of the ones provided by Jsaux. ⚠️
